U Zagreb se doselio 1922, a obrtnicu za vo\u0111enje carinskoga posredni\u0161tva dobio je od zagreba\u010dkoga Gradskog poglavarstva 1923. Po uspostavi NDH ve\u0107 mu je 17. IV. 1941. bio zabranjen rad. Predao je molbu za priznanje arijskih prava, a iako je 17. VI. 1941. dobio dozvolu za prijelaz na katoli\u010danstvo, sa suprugom Milkom ro\u0111. Leitner (Ozalj, 1892 \u2013 Auschwitz, VIII. 1942) preuzeo je \u017eid. znak.
