Bio je prvi rabin \u017dOZ od 1809. do smrti. Kao ortodoksni rabin, bio je uklju\u010den u sukob reformista \u2013 neologa i ortodoksa do 1840, kad je stigao novi rabin \u2192 M. Goldmann. Tada P. formalno ostaje na mjestu zagreba\u010dkoga rabina, potisnut u drugi plan, a djelokrug rada bio mu je ograni\u010den. Pokopan je na groblju na Rokovu perivoju, a nakon 1876. njegovi su ostatci premje\u0161teni na novootvoreno groblje Mirogoj.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Literatura\"><span class=\"SMALL-CAPS\">LIT.:<\/span> G.
