II. 1942). Po struci bravar, radio je kao lo\u017eioni\u010dar. Nakon I. svj. rata postao je istaknuti sindikalni djelatnik u Slavonskom Brodu i 1920-ih \u010dlan KPJ. God. 1928. Sud za za\u0161titu dr\u017eave osudio ga je na deset godina robije, koju je izdr\u017eao u Lepoglavi i Srijemskoj Mitrovici, a potom je bio konfiniran u rodnom mjestu. Po uspostavi NDH zapalio je voj. skladi\u0161te i uspio pobje\u0107i, no u studenom 1941. vlasti NDH uhitile su ga u Slavonskom Brodu.
